Tony leads the company. He combines hands-on experience with a degree in communications and business. That mix helps the team talk clearly with customers and manage jobs well. Lane did a great job on my repair and the service was timely and convenient. he identified the issue, repaired it, and cleaned up my bathroom when he was finished.
Our shower head began dripping after my husband tried to turn the hot water temperature higher, which included removing the cartridge. Walley Plumbing sent Phillip out to diagnose and repair the problem. Phillip immediately told us the cartridge needed to replaced which would stop the dripping. After going to his van, he came back with 3 options. The cheapest was $650, to replace the cartridge. The other 2 options were over $1,000 and included repairs we did not need. My husband and I were flabbergasted for a couple of reasons. (1) We could purchase the replacement cartridge for $82. (2) It was a fix that would have taken 30 minutes at the most. I told Phillip that was ridiculous and that they were taking advantage of us by charging that astronomical price. He asked ""what would you pay?"" which I found very interesting. The charge was negotiable? I told him $100 for the part (more than it would cost) and $100 for his time (1 hour). He shook his head but said he would go back out to see if he could get it any lower. We would have even paid up to $350 which we felt was more than reasonable. When he came back he told us the new charge would be $500! We, again, told him that was highway robbery and we would not be paying such a ridiculous amount. We paid the $96 diagnostic fee and he left. As a side note, we realize there is a markup on parts, but even if they doubled the $82 that would be $164. That would mean they were charging $486 for 30 mins-1 hour labor, based on the original $650 quote. Walley Plumbing should be ashamed!! I will never recommend that company to anyone, and we will certainly tell anyone who asks us for a recommendation to NOT call Walley Plumbing!
I do not recommend these people. I needed my garbage disposal replaced with a disposal that I provided. I was told that there would be a $96 trip charge that would be applied to the work they were to perform. Once at my house, I was quoted a price of over $550 for what would take maybe an hour at most. This included the $96. Needless to say, they showed up, collected their money and left. Wayyyyy overpriced.
Does not recommend. Unprofessional and overpriced! Was told diagnostic fee was $96 but was asked to pay three times that amount. Tech did not fix anything to even charge me any amount other than the $96 diagnostic fee. Nothing against the technician because it was his Boss that told him to charged us the high price.
Great Service and Plumber that came to my home he was very knowledgeable and fixed the issue within an hour. I would recommend Walley Plumbing to anyone and rest assured that I will be using them again, if needed. Great Job !
Our recently purchased home has a HOOT system that has been poorly kept by previous owners. Shortly after moving in, an alarm began to sound. Walley, I stumbled across on the Internet in desperation for info. One simple call and we are good to go, all in the matter of a few hours. Thank You!
This used to be a good company but the last job they did was bad quality. They recaulked my shower less than a year ago and it's already cracking and coming out. I paid over $600, which is way too much but I thought it was being done correctly. I called to have them checkout the problem but they wanted to charge me a $90 diagnostic fee just to look at it. They did a lot of work for me in the past but I guess it's time to look for a new plumber. I'm very disappointed.
I contacted this company to make some required repairs due to my home being under contract. The technician was scheduled to arrive between 9 & 12. They didn't arrive until 2:00. Phillip ""evaluated"" the issue and said the only way he would be able to fix the outside faucets were to replace them. He said he couldn't replace the gaskets to see if that corrected it, it would require total replacement. In order for him to do this, he was going to have to chisel out brick so he could weld an extender into the old pipe and then put on a new faucet. He was going to have to do this to both exterior faucets. I also had a leaking valve stem behind the washer that had to be replaced. Based on the ""amount"" of work it was going to take, he quoted $793. I assumed it was so high because of the complexity of chiseling out brick, welding, etc. He left to get parts and returned about 25 mins later. It takes him about 45 mins to complete the work. Low and behold, the brick did not have to be chiseled. He was able to put the extender on and new faucet with no issues. Valve stem behind washer was also no issue. He still charged me $793 even though he didn't do all of the ""required"" work that was included in the initial quote. I was so astonished, I went to our local hardware store and priced the parts he used. It cost less than $50 in parts. That would mean I was charged $750 in labor! Round up the time to 2 hours...that equates to $375 per hour. Absurd! My husband, who has been working out of town, immediately questioned the price when I told him how much it had cost. A major red flag was that the technician couldn't give me an invoice. I asked for it. I even asked if I could take a picture of his tablet showing what the charges were. He told me he didn't have access to that. He said I would have to call the office in the morning to get it. I began calling at 7:30am the next day. We had to call 6 or 7 times to be able to get the invoice. We specifically requested an itemized one. We wanted to see what was so expensive. We receive, finally, from the owner (Tony) an invoice with one line item and the total price. He said they are a ""flat rate"" company. Based on the other Google reviews, that simply isn't true. There are many talking about their ""hourly rate."" What it boils down to is they use whatever rate is more convenient and beneficial to them so they can overcharge for their services. I feel as though I was taken advantage of. I was misled into believing the scope of work was greater than it was. Not to mention, my brick was burned and my shutter melted! If you need plumbing repair work, I would recommend you seek help elsewhere.
Mike I.Came out to fix shutoff valve at toilet. 15 minutes later finished installing a $20 part for a charge over $200. I thought that was a little high. Offered to replace the insides for another $200. No!!!
Leaking pipe under the slab. Was quoted a price of $4000. They came down to $3000. Paid the $96 diagnosis charge. Had the repair done by another professional local plumber who quoted $2500 but did the job for $1985.
