During the Depression Berger briefly went to Alaska; the business continued under his wife. In 1941 Paul Anderson joined as an apprentice and bought the business in 1957. His sons later joined, and the firm installed Manhattan's first central air unit in 1958.

In 2004 four long-time employees purchased the company. Three remain on the board and oversee daily operations. The business has adapted over decades to changes in heating, cooling, and plumbing technology while keeping a local presence.
