Charles Hahn opened Hahn Plumbing in Lewiston in 1898 at age 23. Within a few years he added wholesale and retail plumbing operations. The business moved through several downtown sites and in 1935 split the retail side from the wholesale. After Charles Hahn passed away in 1937, the wholesale business continued under family leadership.

In 1959 Hahn Supply built a new warehouse at 2101 Main Street in Lewiston, which still serves as corporate headquarters. The company expanded in 1989 by adding Hahn Tool Repair and later established Hahn Rental Center at the Lewiston Orchards and other locations in Kamiah and Moscow. Hahn Supply, Hahn Tool Repair, and Hahn Rental Center remain 100% family owned and are now in their fifth generation.
