Eric Sabo began training at Norwich Technical High School and graduated in 1994. He served as a commercial HVAC mechanic at the University of Connecticut Storrs campus, where he worked on chillers, ice arena equipment, commercial freezers, and steam and hot-water heating systems. While with the state he also ran a residential repair business. In 2018 he transitioned to running Eric Sabo Plumbing, Heating & Cooling full time. The company builds on decades of hands-on experience with both residential and institutional systems.

He holds the trade licenses earned during his time at UConn and the state, and he taught plumbing, heating and cooling before running the business full time.
