Zero stars on plumbing. I sent a message via email (Sunday). Got a call Monday at 8:50 am (so far so good). Was not given a time or day they could do a service call-said she would call me back when she knew. Next thing I know, my daughter who is visiting from DC and teleworking texts me at 10:40 am and says they are at the house. I drop everything and rush home from work where I find 2 cut holes in my kitchen ceiling exposing pipes. Upstairs I find a wall panel taken off with exposed pipes in the hallway. They then went outside for a bit. Came back in-say they cannot fit in the crawl space and the supervisor told them to charge me $89.00 for coming out. Told me to call someone else. So, here I sit with holes upstairs and downstairs, water pouring from underneath my house to the street, a drip from the hole in my kitchen ceiling, the cover off my crawl space (which I have been under in my younger years by the way), and my back fence gate left wide open. In worse shape now than when I called them.
BUSTED AC LEAKING Shopped a lot for another replacement coil with loss of coolant. Home shield ins pays only 10$ a pound for the coolant that now costs over $100 and is going up. Home shield did not pay for unit replacement either. They would hire team z to come and 'repair'. Those units are about to be totally obsolete.
NEW units with 10 year warranty and a 0% financing package and a VERY CLEAN and VERY SMOOTH attic install. WELL DONE and THANKS. They even swept up the garage and took all the leftover box and cardboard trash with them. WOW. AND a 20% discount at the right moment. Upgraded to WIFI upstairs downstairs thermostats. EXCELLENT TEAM
Jeffery D.$219.00 and I was in the same position I was after the technician left. NO HOT WATER!!
I have a Rheem tankless water heater and it recently quit working. Because this company is a big name in heating and air, I decided to use them based off of their reputation.
The technician was very friendly and he did clean my tankless water heater but he failed to fix the problem. I found that he was genuinely concerned and he seemed to want to help but I'm still not a satisfied customer.
Also, I found out, while he was at my home, I could have called Rheem and they would have walked me through a diagnostic operation. When he called, he told me that they were closed, but when I called, I was able to speak with technical support.
When luquire did a small diagnosis over the phone, their representative should have told me that they do not typically service, and/or fix Rheem products. I found this out too late and I have been without hot water for 3 days and more to come. The technician attempted to order the part that I needed but failed to call me back in a timely manner and only called me once I called him. By the time he called, it was too late for me to call Rheem and order the part myself. I now have to wait till Tuesday because of the holidays.
I can't speak for their overall quality of work but I can say they should have told me at the beginning that they do not typically service Rheem products. Based off of my experience, I will shop around next time and ask more questions before I settle on a company.
UPDATE
I went to the business and attempted to speak with the Billing Manager. He was not in and I explained the situation to the secretary and requested to have the bill slightly reduced. I never received a call back and they quickly cashed the check.
Just because they are a big name, I would caution just jumping in and using them. They do not have very good customer service.
Very Disappointed with the integrity and moral compass of this company or at least the rep that My wife and I encountered...
First thing let me say i am completely aware that a business has to make a profit to remain in business.
On Saturday 29 August 2015 the compressor in my outside unit failed. We called several contractors around to include Luquire whom were too busy until Monday 31 August 2015 to handle a service call. We found a contractor who wasn't and came out within hours to confirm my attempted diagnosis. Due to the unforeseen reasons my wife an had to search for alternative funding through a company called Microf. Below is what transpired with the rep from Luquire who came on Monday 31 August 2015...
The representative came to my home took some measurements and began his sales pitch Everything was nice and cordial but I started noticing discrepancies in what he was telling me versus previous research on A/C systems and the DOE mandate on 14 seer being the new minimum e.g. he stated the mandate does not go into effect until 1 Jan 2016 and the grace period last until 2017 among other things. I continued to listen and he proposed a 4 ton 13 seer Carrier unit complete replacement of $5899.00 after a buy back discount and a discount coupon. At this point it is 87 degrees in my home and has been for the third day so we started on the Microf application and I had a few more questions in regards to seer rating, cost, Flex Duct replacement and discounts. which were as follows:
Me: How much would t cost for you guys to replace flex line ducts as I have a few 3 or 4 that need replaced and cant find anyone to sell them to me.
Rep: You have 13 supply lines and Microf doesn't cover that cost it will be $2000 out of pocket to replace the 13 lines you have.
Reality: 1. My Microf relationship manager stated they cover the entire proposal.
Reality: 2. $2000 would put each line at $153.85. With the material costing me ""retail"" including tape and tax and military discount at lowes.com $450. The labor would be $1650 or $119.23 each. That seems extremely excessive as it takes 30 minutes or 0.5 hrs each averaging in the 5 difficult lines to get to. So let's say they charge me $500.00 for material and $1500 labor. that puts it at 6.5 hrs making the labor $230.77 an hour in my opinion not only is that taking advantage of someone in a bad situation its immoral and unethical
Reality 3.This afternoon I actually replaces them myself and I'm no HVAC guy. The materials cost me $434.73 and I did it alone (well my wife yelled are you ok a thousand times) in 4 hours and 28 minutes taking periodic breaks because of the heat in the attic. So 4.5hrs for 1 guy minus the retail cost of material equals $347.84 and hour in labor make your own assumptions.
Me: Can you guys install a 14 seer unit versus a 13 seer for efficiency purposes and the fact that 14 seer will be the new standard?
Rep: Yes but there is a significant price difference in the units, however since your going through Microf they will not lease a high efficiency unit like a 14 seer unit so you will have to go with the 13 seer which really isn't too different than a 14 seer
Reality: 1. My Microf relationship manager stated they cover the entire proposal.
Reality: 2. the 7.2 % difference in power consumption between 13 & 14 seer unit equates to $18.20 a month less on my power bill based on my current yearly average.
Me: There is a coupon on your website that says there is a $1600.00 discount on select Carrier systems thats $500.00 more that the current discounts does this unit qualify?
Rep: ""You got all the discounts your gonna get. and that discount is only for the infinity line""
Me: How soon do you think it will be until Microf calls me.
Rep: I am going back to the office and submit your application now and you should hear something in the morning.
Me: Thank you!
Reality: Microf didn't receive the application until 8:18am CST or 9:18am EST Tuesday morning not Monday as stated.
Based on all of the above things I went with a different contractor, that brought portable AC units to help ease the discomfort of 85 to 93 temps in my home they will be installing a 4 ton 14 seer Bryant unit (which i believe is owned by carrier) complete replacement $6019.00 a $120 difference from the price of the soon to be obsolete 13 seer unit the Rep proposed. Not so significant if you ask me
My advice is to shop around and avoid Luquire at all cost. Also Microf is a great company for alternative funding it's like rent a center but you get an option to pay off early with a 40% discount
